There are quite a few places in Karnataka which everyone have to visit once in their lifetime... And Jeez!!! Unchalli Falls certainly demands a visit from visitors just because of it's sheer Natural Beauty with lush green surroundings...
The best time to visit the Falls is in the month of September/October...

The Gorgeousness of the Falls is evident from the fact that this Falls is rated one among the 'Top 100 Waterfalls on Earth' compiled by US based Worldwaterfalls database... This Falls is also mentioned in the book '1001 Natural Wonders of the world you must visit before you die' compiled by UNESCO in association with UNO...

Location: Unchalli Falls is located near a village called Heggarane in Siddapura Taluk, some 460 Kms from Bangalore and 170 Kms from Shimoga...

Route: Two routes from Bangalore, one via Siddapura and other via Sirsi, which is advisable till the bridge near Haasrikatta gets repaired...

From Bangalore: Tumkur - Arasikere - Kadur - Shimoga - Sagara - Siddapura - Sirsi

If you are coming from Siddapura side: Take left turn after traveling for about 05 Kms on Sirsi Road, popularly known as KoLsirsi Road... Then continue further via Bidrakana - Haasrikatta (Take Right at this Junction and immediate Left towards Yelagara Cross)- Yelagara Cross (Take left turn)- GoLimakki (Travel Straight for about 20Kms without taking any deviation till you reach dead-end) - Heggarane (Take left turn at this Junction) - After 02-03 Kms take Right turn at Junction, where you can also find an Arch - at dead-end is Unchalli Falls (05Kms from Heggarane)

From Sirsi (ADVISABLE, though coming from Bangalore):- Take Kumuta road at Amminahalli Junction take Left turn - Nilkunda - Heggarane. At Heggarane village continue Straight without taking any deviations from there after traveling for about 03Kms you find the Arch on right side... take right turn at a Junction.

CAUTION: If you continue Straight at Haasrikatta Junction without taking Right turn you'll be struck as a bridge is collapsed and the road is completely blocked... You have to again come back and take turn at Haasrikatta Junction...
