Burude Falls/Illimane Falls/Dodmane Falls at Siddapura Taluk, Uttara Kannada District...
Burude Falls is a 07 tier Waterfalls with 07th tier being the tallest of all. The total height if the Falls from the first to the last tier would be easily around 400 ft... The eye-catching Falls is created by River Aghanashini which first creates the famed Unchalli Falls near Heggarane and later flows westwards to create this Falls...
For visiting this falls, own vehicle is preferred as you can go till the end point of the Falls itself (Two wheelers can easily go till end where you can find a shelter)... However if you are coming by public transport, you have to catch Kumuta bus from Siddapura , alight at Illimane cross bus stop and walk for about 06 Kms till the end, which is not usually a trekking kind of a walk.. After you reach the dead end, We have to climb down some 20 steps and then the real expedition begins...
The trekking to Burude Falls from the steps is arguably one of the Spine-tingling experience you would come across as you would be literally getting down from one root of a tree to other and you can hardly find a flat surface anywhere... The trekking involves getting down to the falls with the help of only roots of trees which are almost 75-80 degrees vertical to the ground for about 500mts or so. It's really a one time experience everyone should cherish.
Kindly note that this Falls is not at all for the aged people and only youths can visit this place. Hence, if you have family or aged people better to avoid this Falls as they literally cannot Trek this route.
The best time to visit the Falls is during the months of September/October, as is the case with Waterfalls of Malnad region of Karnataka...
