Arbail Falls, Uttara Kannada District

From the #WesternGhats of #Karnataka...

At the outset, I would like to thank heartily Mr. Narayana Hegde, because he was my guide who lead me to this falls... Without him it was impossible for me to visit this...

Another Multi-tiered Waterfalls from our beloved Uttara Kannada District... This is a 07 tiered Waterfalls with a height of about 200 feet located abo

ut a kilometre or so from the main road... The trekking to the falls till the base that's Sixth tier is a very simple one and a soothing experience... One can easily get to see the entire falls except the first tier (i.e from 02nd till 07th tier), a point till which people of all age groups can visit...

For viewing the first tier and to go near it, we have to climb up the rock from the 05th tier to the 01st tier, along the falls path which is the best & the most memorable part of the trek... I personally didn't find it that much tough, it was of medium difficulty, but I personally do not recommend ladies to try this stretch...

Obviously the first tier is the most grandest & tallest of all tiers with a height of about 💯 feet... One can enjoy bathing/swimming in both first and fifth tiers of the falls...

One can get to see the top most tier (first tier) of the falls from the main road itself...

Incredible Nygara falls or Naigara Falls, Uttara Kannada Distrcit, Karnataka

One of my long pending dreams finally fulfilled... A visit to NGR/KTL Falls... Have to thank Krishna Sir a lot for helping me to find this hidden beauty of WGs...

Another gorgeous Multi-tiered Waterfalls from the Western Ghats of Karnataka...

This falls is a two-tiered waterfalls with a height of about 200 feet which reaches River Aghanashini below...

This Falls is located about 10-12 Kms away from the main road deep inside the thick forests of WGs... Till date only some 20 people have visited this Falls (apart from the localites, of course)...

It was a really stunning Falls and certainly one of the most gorgeous falls one would ever come across... Infact, there's a story behind me visiting this Falls 'so early' which I would like to narrate...

Actually one of my FB friends had posted photos of later half (it's again a multi-tiered falls of about 06 stages) of another Falls nearby which looked similar... I had previously not seen this NGR/KTL Falls and one of my FB Friends who had seen it several times told me that these photos were of KTL Falls itself... I thought may be yes, as I had not seen it before... When asked about how you went to this Falls and how was the terrain, my FB friend who posted the photos said it was a very simple and easy trek which can be visited without much efforts... One more thing is that, I very much knew that visiting NGR falls is not such a easy one as the terrain would be very difficult which includes crossing the streams and getting down the hill which would be very slippery during this time of the year... Even the same was confirmed by others who had visited this Falls...

But when one of my FB friend told that this is the NGR falls itself and that when my other FB friend who posted the pics of 'other' falls said that the trek was a very simple one, I thought of visiting this Falls now itslef since the water level would be high now and that it's the best time to visit any Waterfalls as you all may know...

So I talked to my FB friend who had posted the pics and requested him to take me to that Falls one day... He kindly obliged and we fixed the date... I left Belgaum by boarding night 01:00AM bus and reached the nearest taluk point by morning 06:00AM... Even my other friend, who's native is hardly 10Kms from the GP of this village, also came all the way from Bangalore for taking me to this Falls and by the time we met it was 10:00AM...

As we were discussing, my FB friend and one more friend of him confirmed that this is not at all the NGR Falls and that this is another Falls nearby which I had visited previously... But I argued with him that this is the NGR Falls itslef... As we were arguing, he showed me the pics once again and after me going through it thoroughly, I was confirmed that this was not NGR/KTL Falls by any means...
I once again forwarded the pics to my FB Friend who had told that this was NGR Falls... He later after going through it, said that these pics were of another Falls and that it was not of NGR Falls...

I was very much disgusted and shattered solely because of the reason that I came all the way from Belgaum by night travel to visit one of my dream waterfalls... As I have said earlier, I was longing to visit this falls since many days...

Luckily, I had the contact number of a localite there (he was the same person who guided me to Aghanashini Valley below when I had visited it) who stays in the next village of that Falls and that he was the local guide there to that Falls... I contacted him over phone and enquired him about trekking to NGR Falls... He said that it's not that we cannot but the terrain would be bit slippery now... As I was longing to visit that Falls, we 03 of them decided to visit that falls finally...

We left the nearby taluk by 11:30 and reached the village by 12:30... We started our trekking without wasting much time and reached the stream by 01:30... On the way my guide was bit confused as to whether we can proceed further or not because even he was visiting the falls for first time during this time of the year (that's during peak monsoon season)... After trekking for more than an hour and reaching the stream, our guide said it's all upto to we guys now to decide whether we go further or return to the village... My other two friends siad that let us return, but I didn't leave it, I was very much firm minded and said that let us go further... On seeing my firmness, my guide went further and searched for appropriate place to cross the stream and trek further... He once again returned saying that he's ready to take us further but we should be ready to come with him... My other two friends once again were not ready, but I didn't leave, I was very much firm on visiting the falls... Finally we all agreed and went further... Believe it or not, it was hardly a 05-10 minutes walk from that point were we stood deciding...

Kargod Falls- A Majestic Beauty in Seclusion

I would like to say that, I'm feeling very privileged having witnessed one of the most #unique and #amazing #Waterfalls of #Westernghats of #Karnataka... This Waterfalls is really a one of it's kind... This falls has to be right up there with the best...
A 15 TIERED WATERFALLS, 07 KILOMETERS LONG (from top tier till base) WITH 800 FEET HEIGHT!!!! Isn't that mind-blowing????
I would like to thank, Krishna Sir and also Mahabala & Narayana (localites of that village) along with Ravichandra and Rama (these 02 guys who are studying 06th Std, were actually my guide to this Waterfalls!!) for helping me to visit and experience one of the most mind-boggling waterfalls you would ever come across...
I left Belgaum by night 12:30 AM bus and reached that village by 07:00 AM... After fresh-up, we left the house by 09:30 in morning and returned by 05:00 in evening... Total trekking distance was about 06 Kms one way out of which 04 kilometers of stream walk, took me 03 hours one way, which is all most one hour for one kilometre of stream walk, such was the terrain there... We had to walk along with the falls itself

by jumping the boulders (had to climb up and down the different tiers we came across)... I visited 10 tires out of 15 tiers... There were actually 02 more tiers above the 01st tier, the pics of which could not be taken but can only be seen because of some natural constraints... For every kilometer we trek, we can find at least two tiers of the Falls...
The most difficult & tantalizing part of the trekking was getting down and climbing up from 05th tier to 08th tier... Really scary...
As said above, the uniqueness of this Waterfalls is that from origin till base it flows for about 07 kilometers and we have to trek along with it itself, there is no other way to visit this falls... We cannot see this falls if we trek in the forest... This is also the second toughest trekking experience in my life after the Aghanashini valley trek... By the time I came back to my guide's house, I was really done and dusted... Worth each and every step...
People like us, dream and live to experience such things😍😍😍
Have mentioned stages along with the pics...

Ullur Abali Falls

Ullur Falls is a two-tiered Waterfalls with a height of about 150 feet. The trekking duration to the falls is about 45-60 minutes, if you have own vehicle else we have to walk extra 02 Kms and most part of the trekking involves stream walking and hence it's totally impossible to visit this falls during monsoon. The dangerous part of the trekking itself is climbing from second tier, which is about 50 feet to the first tier, which falls from a height of about 100 feet. One can easily play in the falls under both the tiers but playing under the first/top tier is the most memorable one. No forest permission is required to visit this falls.

This is the top tier of the Falls...

This is the Second Tier of the Falls...

That's the top tier of the falls, which one can see above...

Nevelse Falls

Nevelse Falls is a single tiered waterfalls with a height of about 120 Feet. Trekking duration to this falls is about 45-60 minutes one-way from the last house/parking lot if you have a two-wheeler (Even cars may be difficult) else one has to walk for about 06-07 Kms, which can be quite tiresome and time consuming. Forest Permission is required to visit this falls as it's situated in a reserved forest. Trekking to this falls is quite difficult during monsoon as it involves stream walking/crossing and even the trekking trails through is forest is quite slippery. The place is inundated by some venomous snakes, so be careful! One can easily play/swim in the waterfalls quite easily.
